Breaking: Shooting near Storrie Lake wounds two, kills one
A shooting late Monday night killed a young girl and sent two other juveniles to the hospital with gunshot wounds, according to New Mexico State Police.
Around 11:45 p.m. Monday, State Police responded to an area near the entrance of Storrie Lake State Park on NM State Road 518 after receiving a report of a shooting.
Officers arrived to find three juveniles with gunshot wounds — two girls and a boy, according to Lt. Mark Soriano with New Mexico State Police.
“All of the victims were initially transported to the Alta Vista Regional Hospital in Las Vegas,” Soriano told the Optic. “One female victim died from her injuries.”
Soriano said the wounded boy and the other girl are currently being treated for gunshot wounds at a hospital, and their condition is unknown.
