An 18-year-old Las Vegas man has been charged with raping a 15-year-old girl at his west side home.

Ivan Trujillo, 18, was arrested Feb. 12 and was booked into the San Miguel County Detention Center, charged with second-degree criminal sexual penetration.

The girl told police she was running on a trail when she received a text message from Trujillo, who asked her to come to his house to see his car, according to an arrest affidavit filed in San Miguel Magistrate Court. The two met near Hot Springs Boulevard and Mills Avenue and walked to his house.

After looking at the car, Trujillo invited her inside his home to look at turtles he kept as pets. The girl told police Trujillo’s mother was inside the house when she agreed to go in, but once inside, his mother left the house to sit in a vehicle.

She told police she felt nervous and told Trujillo she planned to leave; however, Trujillo locked the bedroom door, pushed her onto a bed, pulled her pants and underwear off, then forcibly raped her, according to the affidavit.

She told police she repeatedly shouted for him to stop, but he covered her mouth with his hand and grabbed her neck to prevent her from yelling.

The girl was able to get one of her legs between their bodies and push Trujillo off of her. She put her clothes on and left the home, but said Trujillo followed her outside apologizing.

Trujillo admitted to investigators that he’d forcefully penetrated her, telling police he wanted to “confess his sins,” according to the affidavit. He also admitted to placing his hands over her mouth during the rape, but told police he stopped when she told him to.

Judge Christian Moñtano set bond for Trujillo at $5,000 during a Feb. 15 hearing. He was released from SMCDC later that day, but Judge Moñtano placed Trujillo on house arrest with a GPS monitor.

Trujillo is scheduled to appear in Magistrate Court April 1 for a preliminary hearing.
