Police seek information on missing woman from Las Vegas
Police are searching for a Las Vegas woman who’s been missing for more than a week.
Shana Storey was reported missing by a friend Jan. 18, soon after Storey was released from the San Miguel County Detention Center where she’d been booked on a warrant for failing to appear in court for traffic citations.
Lt. Matias Apodaca of the Las Vegas Police Department said Storey often stayed at Samaritan House, but according to Apodaca, officials with Samaritan House have not had any recent contact with her. Apodaca said it’s unknown if Storey is still in Las Vegas, and said it is possible she could be attempting to travel to see family in other parts of the state.
“We have information that she possibly has family in Albuquerque, and may have family in Springer,” Apodaca said. “We’ve reached out (to her family), but we’ve had no answer to those calls.”
Apodaca said police haven’t been given a lot of information and are hoping the public can help.
“We’re hoping to generate calls from people who’ve seen her,” Apodaca said. “We have no idea if she’s in danger, and no idea if she’s under medication or anything of the sort.”
Police describe Storey as a 42-year-old woman who is 5-foot 5-inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds.
She has blue eyes and dark blond hair that could be cut very short. It’s unknown if Storey has any tattoos or other identifiable markings.
Apodaca asked anyone who has seen Storey or knows where she is to call him at 505-425-7504, extension 3108.
