About Ryan

Ryan Lowery is a writer and journalist whose work has been featured by The Motley Fool, AOL’s DailyFinance, Seeking Alpha, and others. He has also written several essays and short stories, and has completed three novels.

Ryan has spent most of the last 16 years as a writer and freelance journalist. He began his professional writing career as a copywriter, mostly writing business plans, sales letters, employee manuals, and website copy. He soon started writing essays and short stories as well. In 2005, Ryan began work on his first attempt at writing a novel. Completed in 2006, it is now locked safely away where no one will be subjected to its dreadfulness. However, taking what he learned from the experience, Ryan soon began work on his first real novel, which he completed in 2008. Since then, he has written two other novels.

At the age of 16, Ryan became interested in investing, and when he turned 18, he opened a brokerage account and began trading equities. With a love for the stock market, a love for writing, and a love for fact gathering, it is no surprise Ryan found a home writing finance and investing articles.

Music has always played an important role in Ryan’s life as well. He plays the guitar and drums, but his favorite instrument is the bass guitar, which he’s been playing since he was 12. He has composed, produced, and written several songs, and he’s played in bands, performed on albums, co-produced records, composed orchestral pieces, and accompanied other musicians on stage.

Ryan currently lives with his beautiful wife and their ferocious cat in a charming, 60-year-old home they are renovating in Albuquerque’s Uptown area.
